2001

Original idea first established, based on the principle that as glass is used in all other types of abrasives e.g. glass paper and glass beads for shot-peening – why not vibratory?

2002 -2006

Discussions with Glass Technology Services, Recycling Action Yorkshire and very early trials, majority being failures. Vibraglaz name and logo devised 2005 along with first meeting of management team. Further trials 2006 met with greater success.

2007

Vibraglaz (UK) Ltd incorporated. Moved to current premises. Continued trials working with Huddersfield University and Bradford College. First filing for UK patent.

2008

Continued collaboration with Resource Efficiency Yorkshire (formerly RAY) and case study produced. Nominated for Yorkshire Forward Innovator awards in March. Began working with Liverpool John Moores University. Very early trials with aerospace and bio-medical sectors, less failure in trials.

2009

Manufacturing facility established. Continued collaboration with all main “allies”. Early project trials for other abrasive applications (with Vibraglaz® technology). Runners –Up in Yorkshire Forward Innovator awards. Mentioned in national Chartered Institute for Waste Management award ceremony. First liquid compounds produced. Vibraglaz granted Registered trademark status and copyright.

First international filings for patent throughout the world

 

2010

Continued collaboration with CO2 Sense (formerly REY). UK Patent published. Product range finalised (media and compounds). Continued field trials proving successful. Began procedures for ISO 9001:2008 accreditation.
